The Exeter Township Fire Department was dispatched Tuesday morning to the 2600 block of Perkiomen Ave in Mt Penn Borough for a reported structure fire. The on-duty crew responded and arrived to find smoke showing from the structure. Crews went in service and located a kitchen fire with some extension into other areas of the residence. All units had the fire under control within 10 minutes of arrival at the scene. The on-duty crew was released by Mt Penn command at 12:37 pm.
