 Full-Time Firefighters
The Exeter Township Fire Department, Berks County, Pennsylvania is currently accepting letters of interest to establish an employment eligibility list and is seeking experienced candidates interested in the position(s) of Full-Time Firefighter.
The Exeter Township Volunteer Fire Department is a combination department that provides fire and QRS services.
Qualifications
Be at least 21 years of age; must possess a high school diploma or GED; must be able to speak, read, and write the English language; must possess a valid Pennsylvania drivers License (at time of hire); must possess a current EVOC, Hazmat Operations, VRT, EMR/EMT, and Pro Board Firefighter I certification. Candidates with emergency vehicle driving experience are preferred. Candidate must meet physical fitness requirements as established by the Department.
Required Minimum Training:
- NFPA 1001 - Firefighter II
- PADOH EMT (or the ability for reciprocity within three months of hire) with Healthcare Provider CPR
- NFPA 472 - Hazardous Materials Operations Level
- Pump Operations II
- EVOC for fire apparatus or equivalent
- PA DOH Basic Vehicle Rescue Technician
- NIMS 100, 200, 700, and 800
- Minimally 2 documented years as a fire apparatus operator
Preferred :
- NFPA 1002 - Driver Operator Pumper
- NFPA 1002 - Driver Operator Aerial
- NFPA 1031 - Fire Inspector I (or equivalent), or must obtain within the first six months
- PA Fish and Boat - Water Rescue and Emergency Response, or must obtain within first six month
