| Sunday morning, just after 3am, Exeter Fire crews and automatic aid companies were dispatched to the 100 block of Old Friedensburg Road in Exeter Township for a reported garage on fire attached to the house. The garage was fully involved upon arrival and extended into the roof of the house and was impinging on a large camping trailer. Three water lines from Engine-Tanker 25 were placed into service, along with the elevated master stream from Tower 25. The wind driven fire extended across the entire roof of the home. Ultimately, the incident went to two alarms with special calls for mutiple additional tankers. One cat was rescued…photo in post. Thank you to our mutual aid partners, Salvation Army canteen unit, Chester County Mass Casualty unit, Exeter Road Crew, Exeter PD, and the Exeter Fire Marshal’s office.
The dangerously cold temperatures, below zero wind chills, and lack of fire hydrants in the area posed challenges to everyone. |
