ETVFD Members Focus on Strengthening Water Rescue and Rope Skills

Over the past two weeks, Exeter Township Volunteer Fire Department members have participated in hands-on training focused on building key rescue skills.

๐Ÿ—“๏ธ ๐‰๐ฎ๐ง๐ž ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ• โ€“ ๐–๐š๐ญ๐ž๐ซ ๐‘๐ž๐ฌ๐œ๐ฎ๐ž ๐“๐ซ๐š๐ข๐ง๐ข๐ง๐ 
Members rotated through four stations designed to prepare them for water-related emergencies:
๐Ÿ›ถ Inflatable Boat Setup: Unfolding, inflating, deflating and repacking
๐Ÿงฐ Equipment Review: PPE for different calls, trailer contents and types of PFDs
๐Ÿงต Rope Toss: Proper technique for tossing rope to a victim or rescuer and how to repack and inspect it
๐Ÿšค V-Bottom Boat: Equipment overview and motor setup

๐Ÿ—“๏ธ ๐‰๐ฎ๐ง๐ž ๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ โ€“ ๐‘๐จ๐ฉ๐ž ๐‘๐ž๐ฌ๐œ๐ฎ๐ž ๐š๐ง๐ ๐‘๐ข๐ ๐ ๐ข๐ง๐ 
Training focused on essential rope skills and low-angle rescue:
๐Ÿ”— Knots and Hitches: Including the Bowline, Clove Hitch, Figure 8 on a Bight and more
๐Ÿง— Low Angle 3:1 Rigging: Equipment location, setup and safe operation
๐Ÿงต Members received rope to take home for continued practice

Regular, hands-on training ensures that ETVFD members are ready to respond in any situation โ€” either on land or in water.
