Last night, personnel traveled to the Berks Fire Training Center where they took part in one of many Structural Burn sessions the department hosts. Structural burns are controlled fires within a facility which simulates real life buildings and scenarios. Taking part in these burns allow members to practice their skills and anything they may need to work on to improve their knowledge. These burns are very important for new members as well, as it provides them with an idea of how the department operates while on an emergency incident. All members are required to take part in at least one burn per year to maintain their interior firefighter status.
If you or anyone you know is interested in learning more about how you can become an Exeter Township firefighter, stop by one of our stations on a Tuesday night at 6 PM!
