The Exeter Township Volunteer Fire Department (ETVFD) has been notified by Congressman Gerlach's office and FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) that they have been awarded a 2011 SAFER (Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response) Grant through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
The grant award is for $201,720 and goes toward the ETVFD's aggressive staffing program to ensure coverage to Exeter Township and St. Lawrence Borough. The award will be used for 2013 and 2014 and will assist the ETVFD to provide efficient service to the communities we serve.
This is the 2nd SAFER Grant the ETVFD has received for over $377,720 in awards. This is also the 9th competitive grant the ETVFD has received through SAFER or AFG (Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program) since 2002. These funds have totaled close to $1,000,000 for different projects over the years.
More details will follow.
