Our vehicle rescue training module kicked off earlier this month, starting with the fundamentals. Members have reviewed the proper use of our eDRAULIC rescue tools, including the ram, cutters, spreaders and combi tool. They also got hands-on working on cribbing, struts and air bags for lifting and stabilization. Officers taught members about different extrication techniques and reinforced the importance of safety for themselves, fellow first responders and those they are helping at an incident. Our vehicle rescue training module wraps up next week, just in time for the department to host state-certified vehicle rescue awareness and operations classes and vehicle rescue technician testing in July.
