Haz-Mat Ops Training

Members participated in Hazardous Materials Operations training at Station  25-3. This was the last day of training before the written and skills evaluation on January 24th. Members performed skills such as building an under and overflow dam as well as emergency decon.


 
   
   
ETFD to Hartline Dr. for Electrical Fire

The Exeter Township Fire Department along with Engine 1 and Rescue 49 for RIT responded to the 100 block of Hartline Dr. for a reported electrical fire. Initial reports suggested a fire in the wall of a second floor bedroom with the hall feeling hot. Deputy 25-3 arrived on location advised Rescue 25 and Tower 25 of their orders. The Rescue's crew arrived on location and went into service a thermal imagine camera to investigate. Crews opened a small section of the wall to find a small fire in the wall coming from the electrical outlet. Crews did a great job investigating and cleared the call in about 40 minutes.


 
   
   
Township Merger in Progress

As of December 31, 2008 the Stonersville Fire Company and Reiffton Fire Company have offically combine services and began being dispatched as Company 25.  While the department still has some work to do to complete the merger a new command structure is now in place, the new staffing program is now in operation and members will begin cross training on equipment and apparatus.

The staffing program will provide both stations with in house personnel 24 hours a day seven days a week.  Each station will have a driver and QRS staff to ensure a quick and safe responce to all emergency calls.


 
Standby detail at Station 49

On Saturday night members from the Exeter Township Fire Department Station 25-3 stood by with Engine 3 while the members at Amity had their annual holiday party.  Thank you to the Amity Fire Company for there assistance they provide to Exeter Township.


 
   
   
Multi-Vehicle Accident on 422 Eastbound

On Friday December 5, 2008 around 10:45pm, the Exeter Township Fire Department along with Rescue 7 responded to an accident with entrapment on 422 Eastbound in the area of Service Electric Cable Company. The vehicles were stabilized and two victims were extricated. One victim was treated by EMS, while unfortunately the other victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Crews stood by and all companies cleared the scene around 0100 hours.


 
   
   
Rt 562 MVA with injuries

Monday night the ETFD was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident with injuries on Route 562 by Loader Road. ATK3 and Chief 3 arrived on location and found a van into a pole and another vehicle with heavy damage. Personnel assisted EMS and Rescue 2 with patient care, lighting and cover fluids. ATK 3 remained on scene to assist the police with there investigation.


 
   
   
Hero Welcomed Home

Our own hometown hero was welcomed home on Thanksgiving Day.   Spc. Andrew Addison of the United States Army has completed his basic training and combat medic training.  He trained at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas for four and a half months.  He plans on resting for a little while and then attending Reading Area Community College to continue pursuing a degree in nursing.


 
VRT Training at Station 49

Members of Station 3 along with Engine 3 traveled to Station 49 for Vehicle Rescue training. Crews had the use of a donated wheel chair transport van. Crews used the equipment from Amity to stabilize the vehicle and then practiced using their hydraulic tools to gain access to the vehicle. Thank you to the officers and members of Amity Fire Company for inviting us to train with them. We look forward to more training with Station 49 in the future.


 
   
   
Pre-School Station Tour

Pre-School kids from Schwartzwald visited the station today for fire prevention and to tour the station. All the kids enjoyed looking at the trucks. A special thanks to Brian Dragon from Reiffton for bringing down Tower 2 for the kids to look at.


 
   
   
Pagoda M.C. Junk Car Race

Both Stonersville and Reiffton Fire Companies were on stand-by at the Pagoda Motorcycle Club's Semi-Annual Junk Car Race. Crews extinguished fires from the cars colliding and help extricate drivers when the cars flip. The crews enjoyed themselves and look forward to participating in the event again in the spring.


 
   
   
Accident with Entrapment on Heister Rd

At 12:54hrs Companies 3, 2 and Rescue 7 were dispatched to the 100 block of Heister Rd. for a reported accident with entrapment. Reports indicated that one vehicle was on its side with the driver still in the vehicle with negative injuries. Chief 3 arrived on location and confirmed the reports and ordered that the vehicle be stabilized before an attempt to extricate the driver. Crews stabilized the vehicle and removed the windshield to extricate the driver. Utilities were notified and fire personnel cleared the scene in about 30 minutes.


 
   
   
Station 3 called in to assist in search

Station 3 reported to the Laurel Park In Muhlenberg Township early this morning.  Fire and Police were in search of a male in a wooded area that may have been injuired. Deputy 3 along with Utility, ATV, Brush and Assistant 3 reported to aid the search with our off-road equipment.  As the company was arriving police had located the subject and began walking him out of the woods.  Company 3 returned to quarters.


 
Exeter High School Parade and Bonfire

The Exeter Township Fire Department participated in the Exeter High School Parade and Bonfire this evening. The Parade started at the Exeter Senior High School and ended at the Reiffton Elementary School where the Bonfire was located.


 
   
   
Holloween Pet Parade at A.Z. Pet and Ponds

On Wednesday, October 29, 2008 the Stonerville Fire Company was at A.Z. Pet and Ponds in the Reading Mall on Perkiomen Ave. for a Halloween Pet Parade. On display was Engine/Tanker 3 for visitors to observe. Thank you A.Z. Pet and Ponds for inviting the fire company to this event!


 
Stonersville Fire Company Kicks Off 2009 Fund Drive
